Colin is a UK based Blues guitarist & songwriter who created The Weekend Blues Band back in 2024. That project was to create a ‘virtual band’ designed to bring the songwriting of Bennett & Steele as well as his own blues guitar playing skills to the masses. The band featured guest vocalists over the next two years & they released to the world twenty-five commercial Blues tracks, all critically received & gaining much radio airplay. Now Colin launches his solo career with his first single “Too Many Tears For Me” whilst still continuing his work with The Weekend Blues Band, As a soloist Colin will now be writing all the songs by himself as well as playing all the various guitars, keyboard & bass guitar parts. He will also, for the first time, be the vocalist! He says it may be a scary prospect but feels that after all these years collaborating it was time he played, in his own word, "My music, my way!"

This new project for Colin will see him continue to work with Piers Skelton, who will be providing Hammond Organ & percussion parts, as he did with The Weekend Blues Band & will also see Amy Cullum continue to provide backing vocal harmonies. Colin will also continue to work with Piers on final production of the songs.

Reviews

A  recent industry review of Colin Steele’s guitar playing by Sam Bustard of Echo Rebel an independent online music magazine dedicated to discovering, supporting, and promoting unsigned artists from across the UK.

"Sit Down Kids: This Is How You Play Blues Guitar. The tones are absolutely crafted to perfection. We are talking glassy, edge-of-breakup lead work that cuts through the mix with a thrilling, almost physical pop.

"The guitar is not just playing notes; it’s communicating. The double stops, the staccato jabs, the massive bends, every choice is precise, emotive, and speaks volumes about the guitarist’s expressive intent. The rhythm guitar, too, is a masterclass in servitude, laying down a warm, Clapton-esque foundation that anchors the entire groove."
